Goal Setting v New Year Resolutions

Well, 2011 has nearly come to an end. Spending today reflecting on the past year…..going through my goals for last year and seeing how much I have grown as a person since then. I will course correct my 3, 5 and 10 year goals, re-do my 1 year goals then I will be ready for 2012.

So thinking about how people usually make New Years Resolutions (I use to in the past and never stuck to them), if people really set goals for themselves, start with the big 10 year goal, then 5 year, then 3 year and 1 year and plan out what they really want, then they would achieve what they focused on. For me I sit down in a quiet spot and write down my goals, the ones that really feel good to me are the ones I concentrate on. Visualizing your goals as you write them and on a daily basis, will lead you in the right direction for you. I also break down my yearly goals into daily, weekly and monthly goals…..these are the goals that lead me to my 1 year goal.

Hope this helps people (like me a couple of years ago) that have never set goals for themselves.

What goals will you be settings for 2012?

Cheers

Terrie

Happy New Year

After listening to this mornings training call, I was sitting down today reflecting
on what the word Entrepreneur really means to me. Thinking back when and where
in my life have I actually made a decision to do something and set the wheels in motion.

A couple of years back a friend of mine got diagnosed with breast cancer and after the
initial shock and talking to her about it, I found that her fear was returning to work with
no hair after her chemo…..this got me thinking. What would I be able to do to make her
more comfortable about facing her fear. It came to me overnight that if I shaved my head,
we could both come to work and just have a good laugh about it and she would feel more
comfortable. I then came up with the idea to raise money for breast cancer in the process.
Things moved a little more quickly than planned but still we raised a couple of thousand
dollars for a great charity and also had a whole heap of laughs along the way, as you can see
re: my picture there were many laughs.
My friend came back to work, she is now cancer free, and we look back at the moment now
with laughter, accomplishment and inspiration.

It was such a proud moment in my life that I could help someone and it’s just amazing how
a smile is often more precious than words. To actually hear from my kids that they were so
proud of what I had accomplished even though they were a little embarrassed to go anywhere
with me for a while.

What decisions in your life are you most proud of?

“The key to change… is to let go of fear.”

It’s funny how change effects people in different ways. Some people really embrace
change, think of it as a challenge, embrace what’s about the happen in their lives.
Others dread change, it chokes them up with the not knowing.

Most people appreciate change — as long as it’s happening in someone else’s life.
We all admire those who face major challenges in their lives and grow from their
experiences to become better and stronger people. How brave and exciting! What
a terrific story! But when we face change in our own lives, we feel very different
emotions: we feel doubt and fear, annoyance and anger, sadness and guilt. We
need to face the fear and get on with it. Small changes can lead to big results.

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to
embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is
life, and in change there is power.” – Alan Cohen

Have a great day!
Terrie

Hi Everyone…

Today I want to discuss one of our Documentaries called “Unbeaten” The Movie.

What comes up for me after watching this documentary is choice!

There was no need for these guys to put themselves through what they did. They made
a decision to give it a go, see what would happen, how they would feel, how far they
could push themselves in getting to the finish line.

My kids love watching this documentary. They are all keen soccer players so watching
people do something they are passionate about was really eye opening for them. They
observed how far people can really push themselves to get what they desire. I also told
them “If it is meant to be then it is up to me”.
While watching this movie I realised that I should be grateful for many things in my LIFE
that I really took for granted.

A bit about the Documentary………….

Unbeaten, the second film from award-winning documentary filmmaker Steven C. Barber,
is an inspirational story that chronicles the exploits of 31 disabled athletes as they make their
way over six days in wheelchairs and hand cycles in what is known as the toughest road race
in the world, “Sadlers Alaska Challenge.” The course winds 267 miles through the mountain
passes of Denali National Park between Fairbanks and Anchorage.
The film takes us into the 55 mile-per-day grind of three wheelchair racers, Chris Kohler,
Geoffrey Erickson and Edwin Figueroa. The story transitions midway through as the filmmaker
follows the elite racers of the US Paralympics squad, Oz Sanchez (current Paralympic
Gold Medalist and fastest man in the world in a hand cycle) and Alejandro Albor
(Silver Medalist) in their quest to medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.

Vanilla Fire Productions has teamed up with Polaris to raise the profile of the disabled athlete
and disabled persons worldwide.
The three year odyssey to finish the film came with the help of some very high profile
individuals, including Steve Forbes, Eli Broad, Boone Pickens, Cher, Billy Jean King, Tony Hawk,
Clint Black, Paula and Sumner Redstone, Larry Hagman, Pamela Anderson and Steve Jobs.
Partial proceeds from this film will be given to the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

Would love for you to share what you thought of the documentary.

Have a great day!

Terrie

For me getting your head right is a great achievement, dream big,
get rid of all the monkey chatter that happens, make big decisions
that are right for you. Break through your greatest fears. I got all
this and more by doing Beyond Freedom Evolution. (it’s a 12 month
success education course).

The daily actions that I’m going to share with you are what I use to
run a very successful Home Business but they can be adapted to suit all.

1/ Income producing activities…
so for me that is my marketing and talking to people from all around
the world, for you it might be going to work
(what ever you need to do to create an income)

2/ Visualise your goals (10-20 minutes per day.)

3/ Personal Development (30 minutes per day.)
This could be when you walk the dog, go swimming or to the gym,
journaling (what ever it is for you)

4/ Masterminding with Leaders If you have people around you that
are having the success you would like to have contact them and
find out how they started or what is working for them now.

5/ Cultivate the expectation – that you are going to succeed.
Have a plan in advance then take whatever action you need to
take. And know for certain that you will succeed.

6/ Gratitude …make a note in your journal for 5 things you are
grateful for now and 5 things that you are grateful for in the
future that you will create.

Love to know if people have similar daily activities.

Have a great day!

Going through my personal home study course today and what
came up for me today was “Count Your Wins”.

Even though I had done it before I was really looking at it today and it occurred to me that it really didn’t matter how big or small the WIN was.

I have a checklist of things I need to do daily. I do this as I love to see what I have accomplished. I realised today that all the ticks I was giving myself was actually a WIN whether big or small and was leading me towards my goals.

Here’s a bit of what I was reading:

COUNT THE WINS!

Every step you take in the right direction is a major win. Baby steps, small steps, big steps, they’re all wins. And they should produce a personal payoff for yourself.

Lost a pound? Count the win! Made the phone call? Count the win! Etc.

In order to count the wins you must recognize the wins. This skill is like following a trail of breadcrumbs. Some people are only willing to look at loaves of bread as a win, other can sniff out the most microscopic crumb and keep on the scent through any adversity. The latter always seem to know which direction to turn. They county every win, no matter how small, as proof their intention is working
Source: Beyond Freedom Evolution

So in conclusion it really doesn’t matter at all if you have big wins or small wins they all count and lead you to where you want to be.

What wins are coming up for you right now. Let me know.

BIG goal and set smaller goals that head toward it. Tick them off as you go so you can see
what you have accomplished, you will be amazed how goals tick off daily.

2. Practice gratefulness – Every day, be grateful for what you have, even the smallest things
seem silly at first, like running water, food on the table, electricity. Once you have really got
the gist of it, it will be automatic to do. Be grateful for things to come too, that’s important
for guiding you towards your goals.

3. Pursue balance – For me it’s a balance between family and work. I choose to balance them
and be present in what’s going on around me. If I’m working I’m present in that moment, if I’m
with my kids I focus on them and don’t let anything distract me.

4. Change can be good – There are 2 types of changes and some people react differently
toward them. There are people that love change and the challenges it brings and there are
people who don’t like things changing in their lives. If you can learn to embrace change (even
by changing something small) you can learn to love it.

5. Embrace simplicity – Doesn’t matter how simple things are, as human beings we always try
to complicate them. Sometimes is good to just sit back, take a deep breath and think how
simple it is and just do it.

What have you found helps bring you back to the moment you’re in and really start to enjoy
the life you’re living right now?

Start living the life you love today

Cheers

Being more grateful in our lives is very easy!

Make it a part of your daily routine, in those moments before you get out of bed, and at night just before going to bed to say a heartfelt thank you for everything in your life. You can also put something in your pocket so every time you touch it, you remember to say ‘thank you’ throughout your day.

As you bring this practice into your life, you will start to see more and more to be grateful for. If you start to say thank you for the qualities in your partner, or for your job, or for the abundance into your life, miracles will start to unfold and your whole life can change.

You will start to attract better things into your life, and overall, you will start to feel more peace and joy. And if all it takes is a little thanks, why not start right now?

Expressing and sharing my gratitude every day through this platform has been a way for me to connect with more people who realize just how much happiness and success you CAN create just by being grateful.

What are you grateful for in your life?

Cheers
Terrie

Deciding to leave a job is a huge decision for anyone. You have to consider if you want to leave for another job that is similar, one that is more fun but less money, or trying a new career all together. Whatever the case may be, you have probably reached the point where you are so frustrated and stressed out that anything sounds better!

I went searching for something that would actually give me the time freedom that I needed and also to be financially independent. I found that you are the only one that knows what business is right for you.
Rather than up and quitting your job right away I suggest keeping it or finding another job but using the work to your advantage. In your off hours, start your own business but not just any business – a home based business that you can run part time around your other commitments.

Some great aspects of running your own home business are:

•	It’s an equal opportunity business. No experience necessary. Full ongoing training and support.
•	It can be started part-time while you are still a full-time employee.
•	The starting investment is extremely low-cost compared to typical businesses.
•	The income potential can be huge based on your own efforts.
•	It is relationship business and can be a lot of fun.
•	It is a business of helping people.

Build your business up part-time and make it successful. This is a smart way to take advantage of a job you no longer like by using it to get out of the rat race once and for all.
You can change your life. It’s your choice.
